Olay Regenerist Anti Ageing Revitalising Serum Review

By Friday, April 03, 2015 , ,

A couple of post earlier I showed you guys some of the products I was trying out. Olay Regenerist Advanced Anti Ageing Revitalising Serum was one of them. So today I am going to review it for you guys.

Product Description:
Leave your skin feeling velvety smooth with this highly concentrated form of Olay’s amino-peptide + B3 complex and moisture that hydrates for firmer, visibly lifted skin. It smoothes the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Product Benefits
Formula helps to:
1. Renew skin’s youthful look
2. Deliver deep penetrating anti-aging ingredients into skin’s epidermis layer
3. Reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles with moisturisation
4. Exfoliate and smooth skin

Price: 22 USD

Packaging: It comes in a white opaque bottle with a black pump which locks so it’s quite safe and avoids any mishap if you are carrying it around. I quite like the pump, it dispenses the product nicely and rightly for a single usage and you can control the quantity of product by controlling how much you press the pump. But it doesn't come with a cap on top of the pump, so the pumps nozzle is exposed. I wish they provided a cap for hygiene sake.

Performance: Serum is translucent in colour and has this gel like consistency which is neither too thick nor too thin. It has this sweet smelling fragrance and it reminds me of a hair conditioner I used to use from Toni & Guy. The fragrance is not that strong and neither does it linger on for to long but people with sensitive noses do smell it before you decide on it. It blends very easily onto the skin and gets absorbed almost instantly without leaving any greasy or oily residue behind. It is quite moisturising and hydrating on its own but I follow it up with a moisturiser.

I have been using it morning and night for almost a month and a half now after cleansing my face. In the morning I follow it up with a day cream and in the night with a night cream. After using it for 2- 3 days I noticed that my skin felt hydrated and moisturised and I didn't get that dry, slightly stretchy feel that I sometimes get and have this urge to reapply my moisturiser/day cream.
After a week I could see that my skin felt plumper and smoother. All moisturiser/creams glide smoothly and easily over it and get absorbed nicely. My makeup was sitting well on top of it. With regular usage for a period of one month my skin tone evened out and there was a visible improvement in the texture of my skin.
The serum claims to reduce fine lines and wrinkle appearance with moisturisation. I cannot comment on its efficacy in that department because I don’t have wrinkles as such. But it provides some firmness to the skin. Another plus was it did not clog the pores and caused breakouts.

The Good:
  • Light weight
  • Blends easily
  • Gets absorbed instantly
  • Non – greasy
  • Makes skin smooth and soft
  • Improves skin texture and tone.
  • Makes skin plumper
  • Provides firmness to skin
  • Pump dispenses right amount of product and prevents wastage.
The Bad:
  • There is no cap and pump is exposed.
  • Pricey
Overall it is a good product and I would recommend it to anybody who is on a look out for a serum for there skincare routine. I think it is a good one to start with. It blends easily and provides good amount of moisturisation and hydration to skin. Helps in improving skin tone and texture. Imparts firmness and makes your skin slightly plumper.
