Maxfactor Colour Elixir Intensifying Balm Review

By Wednesday, May 13, 2015 , , , , ,

Hello Everyone,

Today I am reviewing Maxfactor Colour Elixir Intensifying Balm in the shade Voluptuous Pink.

Product Description:
Colour Elixir Intensifying Balm applies in a soft and easy manner in a layer over the lips to build intense colour. Hydrates and protects against dehydration.

Price: Approx 11 USD

Packaging:
It comes in a gold packaging with a clear cap. The packaging is quite sleek, its all plastic but quite sturdy and it looks nice.

Performance:
I would like to describe Maxfactor Colour Elixir Intensifying Balm as a lip product which feels like a balm but has a colour pay off like a lipstick. Texture wise they are very creamy, smooth and oh so easy to apply. Formula is very moisturising as it has Shea butter in it. They are well pigmented and buildable so you have full control as to how opaque you want to go with it.

Maxfactor Colour Elixir Intensifying Balm is available in 6 shades and the one I have is Voluptuous Pink 25. It is a bright pink shade with slight purply tint to it and it is a nice shade for spring/summer season. It is one of those shades which brighten up your face and make you look more alive. Feels very light, comfortable on lips and the best part is it instantly smoothen your lips no matter how dry or flaky they are. Even though they are creamy and moisturising, if you build them up they last quite a while and can withstand light snacking and drinking. They are not transfer proof but fades away quite evenly, leaving behind a nice stain. They are mildly scented.

The Good:
  • Moisturising formula
  • Easy to apply
  • Balm like feel
  • Well pigmented
  • Nice staying power
  • Smoothing effect
The Bad:
  • None as such

I have been using and loving this one for past month or so and I mentioned this in my April favourites as well here .I highly recommend this and I am definitely going to check out other shades as well.
