Maybelline Color Drama Intense Velvet Lip Pencil Review
Finally I could lay my hands on the new
Maybelline Color Drama Intense Velvet Lip Pencils. Heard so many good things about them that I
couldn’t resist any longer, so I finally caved in and bought one. They are said
to be close dupes for NARS Matte Lip Pencils. I can’t vouch for it being the
dupe for NARS Matte Lip Pencil but they sure are popular and quite difficult to
get your hands on, seems to be sold out everywhere. I had to hunt for them in
three different stores and could get hold of only one of the shades I was
looking for arrrggh.
Product Description:
Color Drama is a lipstick
pen with a creamy texture that has a long lasting color with intense pigment.
Performance:
Moving on to the product itself. The first thing I noticed about Maybelline
Color Drama Intense Velvet Lip Pencils was that they are a little smaller in
comparison to other lip pencils available in the market like L’oreal Glam Shine
Balmy Gloss or Colorbar Take Me As I Am. Packing is simple nothing to fancy but
I like that bottom is colour coded so its easy to locate. They are made out
wood so one needs to sharpen them and be prepared for a quite a lot of product
wastage.
Maybelline Color Drama Intense Velvet Lip
Pencils are available in 8 shades. The shade that I picked up is 410 Fab Orange (an orange red). I
was on a look out for an orangey shade for sometime and this one fits the bill
perfectly. These pencils are easy to apply and extremely pigmented. Has decent
staying power without any touch ups it stayed on for 3 - 4 hrs. They can be a
bit drying on the lips so would recommend moisturising your lips before
application. As far as finish is considered they are not completely matte
there’s a lit bit of sheen there but they are not glossy.
The Good:
- Easy to apply.
- Extremely pigmented
- Decent staying power
- Nice colour selection
- Quite a bargain
The Bad:
- Can be a bit drying
- Product wastage due to
sharpening. I wish it came in a twist up packaging.
All in all a great lip pencil and highly
recommend them if you into matte lips or even if you are totally new to the
matte lips this could be a perfect product to start with.

Love the color! Too bad the formula is drying :(
ReplyDelete@ Komal B: I love the color too. So i don't mind putting a little extra effort of applying a lip balm before.
