Last week
I told you guys that I am trying to include green leafy vegetables into my diet
in one way or another and I shared with you Green smoothie recipe here. Today I am
sharing yet another recipe with you guys. I love fresh fruit smoothies and can
have them at any given time. So here I tried to get the best of both worlds my
beloved fruit smoothies with greens.
Recipe:
- 2 cups spinach
- 2 cups berries (I have used blue berries and cranberries)
- 1 banana
- 1 ½ cup yoghurt
- 1 cup mango juice
Blend your greens first so they are no
chunks. Add in everything else and blend them together until smooth.
It doesn't look that appealing but it
tastes amazing and is healthy.

Do you eat
your green and how good are you at doing so? When it comes to eating greens I
am really really bad at doing so. I know all about the health benefits and
nutrients green leafy vegetables are packed with but still somehow I don’t eat
them so often. But as I am getting older, I am realising that I have to make
some changes in my eating habits so that I stay healthy and fit. I am not
changing my complete diet but planning to incorporate more greens into it and
keeping a very realistic approach towards it. I have been experimenting with
recipes for a while now and figuring out what I like and what I don’t like. I
have to admit it is not that easy. Some were okay but some where out right
disastrous. I am still in the trying out and experimenting phase of things. But
amidst all this I have found that the easiest and quickest way of including
greens in your diet is through smoothies. You don’t have to think much just
through in whatever greens and fruits you have and you are done. But still I am
sharing the recipe that I usually follow but there is no hard and fast rule.
You can switch up the fruits or greens according to your liking but keep the
proportions same.

Recipe:
- 2 cups of water( you can
substitute with coconut water)
- 2 cups spinach
- ½ cucumber
- 1 green apple
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- Salt to taste optional
- Mint to garnish optional
Blend your
greens first so they are no chunks. Add in everything else and blend them
together until smooth.
For me
this is easiest way of having greens. Ideally you should drink it daily but I
am still working on it but I do it every other day. I am quite happy that I
have found a way to include greens in my diet and I planning to stick to it.
