Today I am reviewing Glam Matte Top coat for you guys. I was really excited to try this, let's see how it fared out for me.

Performance: It is a matte top coat which will change any nail polish finish into matte one. I was really excited to try this one because I wanted to try matte finish nail paint for quite a while now and with this I can turn any of my nail polish into matte one. When I got it I tried it on its own on my nails and it instantly made them look matte and I got so excited to try it out over nail paint. Sadly excitement didn’t last very long. I choose nail paint with glossy finish to see if it really works. Top coat definitely mattifies but it not a very nice look. The consistency of this top coat is very thick and gooey because of that it doesn’t applies evenly. The finish of this is very streaky. It doesn’t do anything to improve the longevity of the nail polish either. Nail polish that last for 4-5 days with my other top coat lasted for 3 days with this one.

The Good:

The Bad:

The concept of the product is very nice but the actual product is not. I was really excited to try it out but this was such a disappointing product and didn’t work out for me.

If anyone knows of a good matte top coat then let me know in the comments. I really want to try one.

Today I am reviewing another nail paint from Avon. It is Avon Nailwear Pro in Sweet Mint. 

Product Description:

Contains dura plus complex & gelatin for flexibility. Finish on nails is resistant to chipping.

Price: 2.27 USD

Performance:

Sweet Mint is a bright neony green shade . The brush is a standard nail polish brush round and straight cut at top. Formula wise they are quite creamy and smooth but they do get streaky and in my opinion it has more to do with the brush than the formula of the nail paint. It is nicely pigmented but you need two coats for the perfect look. On its own the staying power is pretty average, it stayed good for two days with slight fading and chipping along the sides but by the end of fourth day it chipped pretty badly. With a base and top coat it lasted nicely for five days with minor chipping along the edges. I think with these nail paints a base and top coat is a must.

It is a bright fun shade. I know that this gets streaky and the staying power is not that amazing but still I like Avon nail paints. Streakiness is not visible until you are looking up close and with top coat it is hardly visible. These are quite affordable and are on offers quite often.

Today I am reviewing another nail paint from Avon. It is Avon Nailwear Pro in Loving Lavender. This year I have been really loving purple/lavender shades and this is another addition to my list. Let's see how this one fares out.

Performance:

Loving Lavender is a pretty pastel purple colour. The brush is a standard nail polish brush round and straight cut at top. This shade in particular is not a very summery shade but the weather has been so gloomy and rainy that it feels like winters already. Weather update aside I picked up this shade long ago and never put it to test until last week when weather was messing up with all my outdoor plans and all those summery shades didn’t make me feel like its summer. I went ahead and tried this on. Let see how it fares out.

Performance: It is a duo chrome metallic shade. It is a dusty brown with hues of purple and golden shimmer. I think it is a perfect shade for Autumn/Winter season. The brush is pretty standard circular and cut straight from top. Texture wise they are smooth and glide easily on the nails. They don’t streak which is a plus and they have nice glossy finish. It goes opaque in single quote but I still go for two coats for that perfect look. Staying power though is pretty average 3-4 days. It started chipping third day onwards. With a nice base and top coat wear time definitely improves and you can easily get a 1 -2 days of extra wear out of it.

I have never picked up a shade from this range before and this is my first. I quite like this shade and the way it looks. Staying power is not that good but for what its worth I am ok with that and looking forward to try some other shades from this range.

A while ago in anticipation of warmer weather I bought a few bright coloured nail paints from Avon. This year I am going for fun bright shades and I thought of sharing my picks with you guys.

Avon Nailwear Pro+ in Mulberry – It is a berry pinkish shade and probably not so summery shade but I quite like it and it looks nice on the toes.

Avon Nailwear Pro in Loving Lavender – My love for purple still going strong.

Avon Nailwear Pro in Fuchsia – It is bright pink shade, I usually shy away from such shades but this time I thought I would give it a go and guess what I like it. It looks good on toes as well.

Avon Nailwear Pro in Aqua Fantasy – Perfect mint green shade and I have nothing like this in my stash. I think this is going to be my favourite of the lot.

Avon Nailwear Pro in Sweet Mint – I am not sure about this shade and it is completely out of my comfort zone. But something about this shade made me pick it up. Let see how it goes.

Today I am reviewing another nail paint which I showed you in my On the Testing Table #2 post. It is Avon Nailwear Pro+ in French Tip Lilac. This month I have been really into liking lilacs, in my last nail paint post I reviewed Maxfactor Nail Paint in Lilac Lace and today it’s French Tip Lilac. It is difficult for me too explain the shade but I will try it anyway. To me it looks like a white nail polish is mixed with a little bit of pink and purple colours to it and the end result is French Tip Lilac.
