Today I am reviewing Maxfactor False Lash Effect Waterproof Mascara for you guys.

Product Description:

Performance: This has quite a wet formula to being with but it dries a bit over time but not too much. It has a big fat brush with rubber bristles along the length of the wand. The brush is so big it takes a bit getting used to. It is still easier to work with on top lashes but not that easy with the bottom lashes. You have to be really careful otherwise you will end up with mascara bits all over your under eye area. Plus the brush picks up way to much product so getting the excess of product off is a must every time you dip the brush into the product.

It coats the lashes nicely with one sweep and makes them look much defined in one go. It definitely has lengthening effect and holds the curls beautifully but it is not very volumizing. You can build it up a bit but it tends to get clumpy. Two coats are fine but if you go in with another coat to get the volume it gets clumpy. Moving on to the waterproof/ staying power part. This is the most waterproof mascara I have ever tried. This simply does not budge got rained on and nothing, been in the water and nothing. It stays put no matter what, doesn’t flake or smudge, doesn’t irritate my eyes and lasts for whole day until I remove it. But boy this is not easy to remove; I used an oil based cleanser to remove it twice and still woke up with black residue under my eyes.

The Good:

The Bad: 

This mascara definitely lengthens the lashes, makes them look very defined, holds the curl beautifully, lasts all day long and is waterproof in true sense. If this is what you are going for then definitely try out this mascara. But if you are looking for volume then this is not the one. I like this mascara but not a huge fan of it. I like using it when I know it is going to be a long day and I am out and about and want something that will stay put without flaking or smudging. And I think this would be good for summers and beach holidays.

Over Easter Holidays we went to Berlin. This was the most spontaneous trip we have ever planned. It was the weekend before Easter Holidays that we started looking for options of places we can go to for a mini vacation. Few hours later and after lot of discussions we zeroed down on Berlin. Once the place was decided we started looking for the route, hotels, and bookings etc. all that stuff. We finalised all those things by Tuesday and we were leaving on Thursday evening. Not a whole lot of time to think and pack things.

So I packed stuff that I was currently using and I know works plus my trusted products. Without any further delay let me tell you what all stuff I took with me and why?

KIKO Milano Universal Fit Foundation:  It is very light weight and feels very comfortable on the skin. Very easy to apply and blends easily. I use my fingers to apply this so no need to carry a brush. Coverage is light but it can be built up to medium coverage. And it lasted almost all day on me.

NYX Above & Beyond Full Coverage Concealer in Orange: It is a must to colour correct under my eyes. So with out a doubt I took it.

MAC Prolongwear Concealer: As I opted for a light coverage foundation I went for MAC prolongwear a heavy duty concealer. It is very pigmented and covers those dark circles nicely and any other areas of concern.

Sleek Face Form Contouring and Blush Palette: A very compact palette with a big mirror which comes very handy while travelling and this palette is quite a versatile palette. Apart from contouring and highlighting I used this palette for eye shadows as well.

Maxfactor Crème Puff Blush in Seductive Pink: One of my favourite blushes. It gives such a pretty flush of colour on the cheeks and it has slight sheen as well so it provides a highlighting effect as well.

Essence I Love Stage Eye shadow Base: I have very oily eyelids and if want my eye shadow to last I need to use a primer and I have been using and liking this one from essence. It neutralizes any kind of darkness on the eyelids plus it makes the eye shadow colour pop.

KIKO Milano Long Lasting Stick in 05:  Love this shade plus eye shadow sticks are so easy to use and travel with. They work great on their own as an all over lid colour or as a base for powder shades.

So Susan 8 hour Eye Shadow Palette: It is a dinky little palette with neutral shades. Perfect for travelling. You can create a soft day look with it and if you want you can smoke it out with the darkest shade in the palette.

L’oreal Super Liner Silkissime in Brown Temptation: Love how long lasting this eyeliner is and shade is great too. Now I prefer browns over black for daytime.

KIKO Precision Eyebrow Pencil in 01: I love this product and this is the only brow product I have been using for a while now.  Great shade match and the tip is so fine and precise.

Maxfactor False Lash Effect Waterproof Mascara: This is new mascara I am trying out and I prefer to travel with waterproof mascara. And this one doesn’t budge but at the same time is a pain to take off.

H&M Lush Lip Vinyl in Tuscan Blush: Another favourite of mine. Such a pretty shade and goes with every look. Plus it is so moisturising on the lips and when I travel my lips tends to get dry. So this kept them looking nice and hydrated.

Retractable Blush Brush: This stays permanently in my travel pouch and comes along on all my travels. It’s compact and easy to carry plus I don’t have to worry about it getting ruined amongst everything.

Apart from all this stuff I also took few eye brushes which I packed separately in a pouch to keep them safe and two other lip products which were in my handbag. I forgot to pack a setting powder but that was nothing major I survived without it.

Today I am sharing with you guys my most worn lipsticks in the recent times.

Maxfactor Colour Elixir Intensifying Balm in Voluptuous Pink – I love the ease of using this. Just slap it on and you are good to go. It is a goof proof product IMO plus it is so moisturising on the lips. It is on a sheer side but still is decently pigmented. Feels more like a balm. Reviewed here

                         

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Lush Lilac – This is my all time favourite lipstick and the most loved one. It is almost over so I am saving it until I find a backup of this one. This is one lipstick I think goes with every look and whenever I am unsure I go for this one. Love it.

H&M Lip Colour To Go in Bonne Vivante – I love the rosey pink shade and it is a perfect MLBB shade for me. This is another shade I think goes with every look and is perfect for everyday wear. Very pigmented and lasts for 5 - 6 hours. Reviewed here

Oriflame Colour Attraction in Cranberry – This shade has a bit more pink in it in comparison to H&M one. So if I am in a mood for pink lips then I go for this one. It’s still quite a subtle shade and I love that. Feels very moisturising on the lips and staying power is decent as well.

L’Oreal Glam Shine in Pomegranate Punch – If I want a bit brighter bolder lip then I go for this shade. It is a bit darker than rest of the shades but still quite wearable. I generally shy away from bold lips and don’t think I can pull it off. This shade fulfils the bold lip urge of mine. Love how easy to use it is and how moisturising it is. Not a fan of the lasting power. Reviewed here

L300 Pharmacy Skincare Anti-Age Firming Eye Cream – I was on a look out for a new eye cream with anti age properties and the one which was a bit richer. While I was searching I came across this one from L300 Pharmacy. What attracted me to pick it up was that it has hyaluronic acid in it and is fragrance free. I like the packaging and the fact it has a pump dispenser.

ECO. FACE Rosehip Oil – Face oils are really great for your skin and especially if you have dry skin. I was using cold pressed almond oil and it was working fine but I kind of got bored using it and wanted to try something new and then I came across ECO.Face an Australian brand which makes organic oil and it is a certified brand. They make all kind of organic facial oils and I picked up rosehip one. I am really excited to try this one out,

Lumene 2 In 1 Detoxifying Mask & Micro Scrub – My skin has been breaking out a little and in general looking a bit dull so I wanted to pick up a face mask for that. I read good reviews about this one and it looked like a nice one so I got it. It says it has no parabens, formaldehyde donors and mineral oil.

Formula 10.0.6 Pores Be Pure Skin Clarifying Mud Mask – Because of the same reason I bought this one as well plus it was on 30% off. What more can I say.

Max Factor False Lash Effect Waterproof Mascara – Max factor mascaras are raved about all the time and they are really great. I haven’t used a Max Factor one in a while now. But one but one of friends recommended this one to me and on her recommendation I got it. This is not a new one and has been out for a while.

Sleek Face Form Contouring & Blush Palette – I really like Sleek products specially their blush palettes and I have read so many good reviews about face form palettes that I finally decided to get it. I got it in shade medium and I am excited to try it out.

Packaging: Blush comes in a black plastic circular case with a transparent flip top lid. It comes without a mirror and brush. The packaging is quite sturdy and the lid shuts tightly.

Performance: Maxfactor Crème Puff Blush are baked blushes and so beautiful to look at with their marbled effect. Seductive Pink is a bright pink with veins of peach swirling through it. It is a multi toned blush with shimmer particles but they are very subtle. This blush shade just brightens up the face and gives the most natural flushed toned look. It is very smooth in texture and has a very satiny feel. It is nicely pigmented and very blendable. If you end up applying too much you can easily sheer it out. Lasting power is good too; it lasts for 6 -7 hours on me and even when the colour fades a hint of shimmery glow remains.

These blushes are some of the nicest blushes that drugstore has to offer.  They are nicely pigmented, easy to blend and have good staying power. There are six shades in all and I think they cater to most skin tones. If you are in the market for a new blush or if you love trying out new stuff then do try these out.

Today I am going to review Maxfactor Glossfinity Nail Polish in 130 Lilac Lace. Let see how it fairs out.

Performance:

Maxfactor Glossfinity Nail Polish in 130 Lilac Lace is a more purple shade than lilac. The textures of these are creamy, smooth and just glide on your nails. Nicely pigmented but two coats are needed for the perfect look. You get streak free, glossy looking nails. Brush is a standard nail polish brush round and cut straight at top. Not a big fan of the brush. 

As far the staying power is concerned its quite good but on me it did not last for 7 days. Without any top coat it stayed strong for three days with slight fading and minor chipping around the edges and by the end of the fourth day it chipped a little more but nothing horrendous. Glossy effect stayed good for 2 days but started wearing of by third day. With a base coat and a top coat the wear time definitely improves and you can easily get 5 -6 days of wear out of it which is quite impressive. Generally nail paints don’t last that long on me so I am quite happy with this one and can go on for almost a week with out switching nail paints. Ohh I wish all the nail paints lasted atleast this long. Life will be so easy. I for sure will be checking out other shades from this range.
