Today I am reviewing the newly launched L'Oréal Paris Infallible Sexy Balm. Sexy Balms comes in two finishes sheer and bold. Sheer range has 5 shades in it (102 Goosip, 103 As If, 104 Break the rules, 109 Such a babe, 111 Go pretty or go home) and the Bold range has three shades (202 Adventure, 203 Yala Yolo, 204 Never Stop). I usually gravitate towards nude shades so I picked up 103 As If from the sheer range. Let’s see how this one fared out.

Packaging: It comes in a twist up black plastic body with a colour coded transparent plastic cap.

Performance: L'Oréal Paris Infallible Sexy Balm 103 As If is a perfect pinky nude shade with slight brown undertone. It is from the sheer range but still the colour payoff is pretty good. Really creamy and buttery smooth in texture and applies like a dream on your lips. Finish of this is very glossy and makes your lip looks very juicy and hydrated. It instantly smoothen your lips no matter how dry or flaky they are and it doesn't settle into the lip lines or accentuate them. Is very moisturising on the lips and the best part is it doesn’t feel heavy on the lips and is not at all sticky. Staying power is around 2-3 hours, glossy effect starts to fade off after an hour or so but the moisturising effect lasts even after the colour wears off. It cannot withstand a meal and wears of a bit while drinking. These are scented so if you do not like fragrance in your lipsticks then this might not be for you.

The Bad:

Fragrance might be a concern for some.

Sheer range is great for daily wear. Just slap it on and you are good to go. These are very moisturising and doesn’t feel heavy or sticky. You have to reapply it throughout the day so if you don’t mind that then you should definitely try these out. I really like it and would pick up more shades from this range.

My Travel Makeup: Berlin Edition

Hello Everyone,

Over Easter Holidays we went to Berlin. This was the most spontaneous trip we have ever planned. It was the weekend before Easter Holidays that we started looking for options of places we can go to for a mini vacation. Few hours later and after lot of discussions we zeroed down on Berlin. Once the place was decided we started looking for the route, hotels, and bookings etc. all that stuff. We finalised all those things by Tuesday and we were leaving on Thursday evening. Not a whole lot of time to think and pack things.

So I packed stuff that I was currently using and I know works plus my trusted products. Without any further delay let me tell you what all stuff I took with me and why?

KIKO Milano Universal Fit Foundation: It is very light weight and feels very comfortable on the skin. Very easy to apply and blends easily. I use my fingers to apply this so no need to carry a brush. Coverage is light but it can be built up to medium coverage. And it lasted almost all day on me.

NYX Above & Beyond Full Coverage Concealer in Orange: It is a must to colour correct under my eyes. So with out a doubt I took it.

MAC Prolongwear Concealer: As I opted for a light coverage foundation I went for MAC prolongwear a heavy duty concealer. It is very pigmented and covers those dark circles nicely and any other areas of concern.

Sleek Face Form Contouring and Blush Palette: A very compact palette with a big mirror which comes very handy while travelling and this palette is quite a versatile palette. Apart from contouring and highlighting I used this palette for eye shadows as well.

Maxfactor Crème Puff Blush in Seductive Pink: One of my favourite blushes. It gives such a pretty flush of colour on the cheeks and it has slight sheen as well so it provides a highlighting effect as well.

Essence I Love Stage Eye shadow Base: I have very oily eyelids and if want my eye shadow to last I need to use a primer and I have been using and liking this one from essence. It neutralizes any kind of darkness on the eyelids plus it makes the eye shadow colour pop.

KIKO Milano Long Lasting Stick in 05: Love this shade plus eye shadow sticks are so easy to use and travel with. They work great on their own as an all over lid colour or as a base for powder shades.

So Susan 8 hour Eye Shadow Palette: It is a dinky little palette with neutral shades. Perfect for travelling. You can create a soft day look with it and if you want you can smoke it out with the darkest shade in the palette.

L’oreal Super Liner Silkissime in Brown Temptation: Love how long lasting this eyeliner is and shade is great too. Now I prefer browns over black for daytime.

KIKO Precision Eyebrow Pencil in 01: I love this product and this is the only brow product I have been using for a while now. Great shade match and the tip is so fine and precise.

Maxfactor False Lash Effect Waterproof Mascara: This is new mascara I am trying out and I prefer to travel with waterproof mascara. And this one doesn’t budge but at the same time is a pain to take off.

H&M Lush Lip Vinyl in Tuscan Blush: Another favourite of mine. Such a pretty shade and goes with every look. Plus it is so moisturising on the lips and when I travel my lips tends to get dry. So this kept them looking nice and hydrated.

Retractable Blush Brush: This stays permanently in my travel pouch and comes along on all my travels. It’s compact and easy to carry plus I don’t have to worry about it getting ruined amongst everything.

Apart from all this stuff I also took few eye brushes which I packed separately in a pouch to keep them safe and two other lip products which were in my handbag. I forgot to pack a setting powder but that was nothing major I survived without it.

After I did my first empties I was so proud of myself to finish up quite a few things and thought it would take me quite a while to do another post like this because I get bored easily and switch to new things but I have been good and stuck to finishing up stuff that I am using and here I am again with yet another empties post. So let’s see what all products I managed to finish up this time around.

Eucerin Sun Lotion Extra Light SPF 30 – It has high UVA/UVB protection and is water resistant. It is a nice product and I prefer to use it for my body and not my face. They say it is an extra light but I find it quite heavy to use on the face and gives a greasy look. It is a nice product and I liked when I used it but not a fan in particular. I would not buy it again because there are so many options in the market to try out.

No7 Beautiful Skin Cleansing Balm – I thought it would be a balm but it’s not it is thick cream cleanser and feels like using a cleansing milk but thicker. It is very effective in removing the makeup and works on waterproof mascara as well. Doesn’t sting or irritate my eyes. It is thick and creamy so oily skin people might not like but dry skin gals will like it. But it leaves a slight residue behind after cleansing which I personally don’t mind because I double cleanse and usually use a face wash or Garnier micellar water after using this. This is quite moisturising and even after using face wash my face doesn’t feel dry or stretchy.

Nivea Double Effect Eye Makeup Remover – It is a bi-phase eye makeup remover. Great product and very affordable. It removes waterproof mascara easily and quickly. Just pour on the cotton pad and hold over your eyes for few seconds and your done. No rubbing or tugging is required. Doesn’t irritate or burn my eyes. Definite repurchase.

L'oreal Triple Active Comfort Gentle Toner for Dry and Sensitive Skin – Its consistency is quite thick in comparison to other toners. This is a very gentle and hydrating toner. Doesn’t have alcohol. I am not that particular about using toners and it is not a must step for me in skincare. But I am open to try something which interests me.

Cetaphil Cleansing Lotion for Sensitive Skin – A very gentle cleanser that is great for dry and sensitive skin gals. It doesn’t dry out my skin or leave it feeling stretchy post washing. Not the best to remove the full face of makeup with but a nice option for second cleanse or a morning cleanser. I like using it as a morning cleanser. I have used it for a long time now and always have this in my cabinet. If you are looking for a gentle cleanser and don’t want to shell out too much money then try this out.

L'oreal Go 360 Clean Deep Facial Cleanser for Sensitive Skin – I have to admit I bought this one because of the cute little rubbery scrubber that comes with it and I love it, it is so handy and I use it all the time with other face washes as well. It is a nice face wash. Lathers up nicely and a little goes a long way. It leaves my skin feeling squeaky clean which is good thing but I have notice that post wash my skin feels a bit stretchy and I have this urge to apply my moisturiser/cream immediately. But once I am done with moisturiser/cream it feels normal again. If that’s something you are not comfortable with then try something else. Not going to repurchase, I want to try something else.

Body Scrub – I picked this up from one of the grocery stores. It is there in house brand. It is a cream based body scrub. I am so used to using body polishes that I missed the soapy element. Smells like pomegranate. I found it a bit harsh for my liking and ended up using it as a foot scrub. Not going to repurchase.

Nivea Deo – I prefer using roll on during travel. They are much easier to carry around and are compact in size. It was ok nothing special. Worked fine for 6-7 hours after which I felt like reapplying it. Now I have one from Yves Rocher.

Garnier Fructis Nutri Repair 3 Mask – Not a fan it didn’t do much for my hair. I expected it to nourish my hair and control the frizz but it was not that effective. It did provide some shine and my hair felt soft at touch but the effect was not that long lasting. Not a repurchase.

Today I am going to review L'oreal Paris Smooth Intense Serum for you guys. But before getting started with the review I would like to tell you a little about my hair. I have curly dry unruly hair with major frizz issues and sometimes it seems nothing can be done to control them. So a serum is an important step in my hair care routine hence this review. So lets get rolling.

Product Description:

L’Oreal Paris Smooth Intense Instant Smoothing Serum works through its anti-frizz and anti-volume action, curbing humidity led dampness of hair while preventing waves or volume from resuming their form.

10 times smoother hair
Retains smoothness for 48 hours
Contains Argan Oil and Silk Protein
Keeps hair light and manageable

How to use:

Apply onto washed and dried or dry hair.
Pour several drops of serum onto the palm
Rub hands together and distribute evenly along the length of the hair
Do not rinse out.

Price: 6 USD

Packaging:

It comes in a plastic golden yellow coloured bottle with a flip top cap. Cap shuts tight so there are no leakages.

Performance:

It is transparent in colour and very runny in consistency so be careful when you pour it, you might end up with more than you need. It is quite light and does not feel greasy or sticky at all. Because of its light texture it spreads easily on hair. Has floral scent which lasts for a while and you end up with nice smelling hair. It imparts shine to your hair and helps detangle your hair. Combing through them becomes a lot easier and it somewhat helps in unnecessary hair breakage. Now coming on to the most important thing the smoothing effect. Product claims that it provides instant smoothing effect and transforms unruly hair to smooth manageable hair. It does those things but the effect is not very long lasting. It lasts for max 2 -3 hours on my hair. When I use it on freshly washed hair it provides shine and helps detangle them but is not that effective in controlling frizziness which is my major concern and the reason I use hair serums in the first place. I find it works slightly better on second or third day hair and is able to control frizziness and fly aways to an extent but not all the way.

The Good:

Nice fragrance
Provides shine
Helps detangle your hair
Affordable
Travel Friendly
Easily available

The Bad:

Not that effective in controlling frizziness
Overall effects don’t last very long.

I am not highly impressed with serum for me it is an okay product and I am going to use it but my quest for a better product continues.

Today I am going to review L’oreal Paris Super Liner Black Lacquer in Black Vinyl on the blog. I have read tons of good reviews about this product and that’s why I picked it up. Let’s see if I like it or not.

Product Description:

Waterproof Super Liner Black Lacquer

Price: 11 USD approx.

Packaging: It comes in sleek black tube packaging with golden imprinting on it. The applicator is quite long which allows you full grip and control.

Performance: L’oreal Paris Super Liner Black Lacquer in Black Vinyl is a jet black liquid eyeliner. The applicator of this is amazing, it has a soft spongy tip and the long handle allows full grip of the applicator and makes the application so much easier. It feels exactly like a felt-tip eyeliner. So if you thought that liquid liner are not for you then you can start with this. It is great for creating any kind of eyeliner look, a fine line for an everyday look or a thick winged liner look for an evening look.

Consistency of this liner is liquidly but not too runny. Texture wise it’s quite smooth and glides easily on the lids. You might have to dip in the applicator a few times for both eyes. When you apply it goes on shiny in the beginning but then settles down to a semi matte finish. Another amazing thing is it dries almost instantly so you don’t have to wait around fanning your eyelids so your liner dries quickly. To top it all it has great staying power, it lasted for more than 10 hours on my oily upper eyelids with no signs of fading. It did not get transferred to upper eyelids and is smudge proof. Did not irritate my eye at all and although it is waterproof it comes right off with any makeup remover.

All in all this is a great product and I love it. Easy to apply, dries instantly and stays all day long. Plus it is so easy to use. If you want to try out liquid eyeliners and fret the applicator this one is great to start of with and even the liquid liner experts would love this. Highly recommend it and if you can do try it.

It's the favourites time of the month. These are one of my favourite posts to read and see what people have been using and loving. So let's jump in to see what I have been loving this past month.

Olay Regenerist Anti Ageing Revitalising Serum - Its a light weight, quick absorbing and moisturising serum and my skin has been loving it. I have done a detailed review of it and you can read it here.

Yves Rocher Hydra Vegetal Intense Hydrating Mask - Can't say enough good things about this mask. If you are looking for a hydrating mask that can deal with dry patches and plumps up your skin with hydration and that too in 5 minutes than look no further. You can read the review here.

Oriflames Nature Secrets Exfoliating Shower Gel - It is the mint and raspberry one and it smells amazing. Exfoliating granules are fine in texture and are not to harsh but still quite effective. Enjoying using it in the shower.

Oriflame Nature Secrets Body Spray in Lavender & Fig - Lavender is one of my favourite scents. So anything that is lavender scented I usually end up loving it and this was no exception. It also has figs in it so it doesn't smell to florally. Nice fresh smelling body spray.

Maxfactor Colour Elixir Intensifying Balm - As the name suggests they have balm like texture very creamy and moisturising. Easy to apply and are nicely pigmented. I have shade Voluptuous Pink and I am eyeing some other shades from this range as well. Will do a review soon.

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Lush Lilac - This is my all time favourite shade from Revlon and I have rediscovered it and have been using it this entire month and loving it . Nice everyday shade and very moisturising.

L'oreal Super Liner in Black Lacquer- The applicator is amazing it picks up the right amount of product and is easy to use without any mess. Can do a thin line as well as thick winged eyeliner look. Doesn't smudge on me and stays put. Comes off easily with any make remover.
